Immunity of lies

For the time being we are still at a primitive stage in the human lifespan. This stage is the foreground of enlightenment, but also the foreground of decimation. As humans we have become somewhat of a greedy race for both knowledge and power.  This leads to some shady tactics of climbing over one another in a made dash for the throne of what we desire. This can be trace everywhere from politics to even science. Science is something you think would be immune to this, for science is about exploration, discovery and the creation of new things through "reasonable" means and ways of thinking. We as humans have a instinct to better one another, and while this can bring us to achieve great things it also brings out those deceitful tactics. While things are brought up in science such as new bone discoveries or new forms of matter we first assume what they found is wrong. We then look at the evidence until it convinces us that it is indeed correct. This influences the highest of thought processes and can have lies instead of actual data and discoveries. The lasting effects of this leads us to where we are today, with both actual science and selfish thought.
